News Briefs: See 'Transformers: The Last Knight' Draw Its First Sword

Transformers: The Last Knight

Transformers: The Last Knight: New imagery for Transformers: The Last Knight reveals Optimus Prime wielding a sword against the threat of dragons, the first serious hint about the possible meaning of the movie's title. We know the villainous robot Megatron, who has occasionally taken the form of a dragon, is returning in this installment, though we don't have any confirmation yet as to specifics. Benedict Cumberbatch

Rogue Male: Benedict Cumberbatch will star in and produce Rogue Male, based on a novel by Geoffrey Household. First published in 1939, the book follows a hunter who tries to assassinate a dictator and ends up pursued by the police as well as enemy agents. Previous screen versions include Fritz Lang's terrific 1940 thriller Man Hunt and a 1977 television adaptation starring Peter O'Toole. Michael Lesslie (Macbeth, Assassin's Creed) will write the script for the new version. [THR]

 

Aubrey Plaza / Elizabeth Olsen

Ingrid Goes West: Currently in production, the newly announced Ingrid Goes West is a dark comedy about a young woman (Aubrey Plaza, above left) who becomes increasingly obsessed with a social media star (Elizabeth Olsen, above right). Cowriter Matt Spicer is making his directorial debut. [THR]

 

Storks

Storks Trailer: Written and codirected by Nicholas Stoller (Neighbors 2: Sorority Rising), Storks is an animated family adventure set in a world where the titular birds now deliver packages instead of babies. Andy Samberg and Jennifer Aniston lead the voice cast. The movie will open in theaters on September 23. [Movieclips]
