Rogue One: A Star Wars Story: Did Christopher McQuarrie step in during filming of Rogue One: A Star Wars Story to "tighten up and fix" the screenplay? A rumor first surfaced last fall and now another report adds that the Academy Award-winning McQuarrie (The Usual Suspects, Mission: Impossible--Rogue Nation) was called in "fairly early" after production began and is credited with "saving" the movie. Die Hard: Year One: Back in October, we heard about plans for a sixth installment in the Die Hard franchise, with the bulk of the story set in 1979 when John McClane was a young police officer in New York City. Bruce Willis was touted to show up in modern-day bookends. But director Len Wiseman has clarified the premise: "I’m also not going to do it with Bruce being a cameo bookend gimmick. It’s really working into the plot, with the ‘70s having ramifications on present-day Bruce. It intercuts in a very fun, imaginative way with present-day John McClane.” [Collider]
Deadpool: It's hardly surprising that the superhero movie Deadpool might not gain approval from more conservative viewers due to its adult content. China, which already limits the number of foreign productions that are allowed to be distributed in the country, has now denied permission for Deadpool to play in Chinese cinemas, citing its violence, nudity and graphic language. The movie opens in U.S. theaters on February 12. [THR]
