News Briefs: More 'Deadpool' Details Confirmed; Watch the First 'Transporter Refueled' Trailer

Deadpool: Morena Baccarin recently grabbed a lead role in X-Men spin-off Deadpool, though the role she would be playing was kept a mystery... until now. The actress shared a photo via social media indicating that her character is named Vanessa, likely a "shapeshifting mutant" also known as Copycat. Ryan Reynolds stars, along with T.J. Miller, Ed Skrein and Gina Carano; the movie hits theaters on February 12, 2016. [Coming Soon]

 

Jim Carrey / Keanu Reeves

The Bad Batch: Jim Carrey, Keanu Reeves and Diego Luna will join Jason Momoa in The Bad Batch, a love story between a cannibal known as Miami Man (Momoa) and his prey that's set in a cannibal community in the post-apocalyptic wasteland of Texas. Suki Waterhouse has landed the female lead role for the movie and Ana Lily Amirpour (A Girl Walks Home Alone at Night, the first Iranian vampire Western) will direct. Red Cliff - John Woo

Manhunt: John Woo (Face/Off) will return to the director's chair for action thriller Manhunt. Based on a Japanese-language novel by Juko Nishimura, the story follows a prosecutor who seeks to clear his name after he is falsely accused of robbery, rape and multiple murders. A previous adaptation became a big hit in China in 1978; Woo will be making a multilingual version, with portions of dialogue in Chinese, English and Korean. [Variety]

 

The Transporter Refueled

The Transporter Refueled Trailer: The first trailer for The Transporter Refueled reboots the action series for the big screen with a new star. Ed Skrein (Deadpool) replaces Jason Statham behind the steering wheel as Frank Martin, whose father (Ray Stevenson) has been kidnapped by four women with ulterior motives.
