John Wick 2: Sixteen years ago, Keanu Reeves and Laurence Fishburne teamed up for The Matrix, followed by two sequels. Now they've been reunited for another sequel, John Wick 2. Section 6: Dan Mazeau, whose credits include Wrath of the Titans (above), has been hired to write a new draft of a screenplay for Section 6, a spy thriller that will be directed by Joe Cornish (Attack the Block). Aaron Berg's original script was snapped up about two years ago but ran into a bit of legal trouble that has since been settled. Jack O'Connell (Unbroken) was attached to star, though it's not clear if he is still involved. [THR]
Sully/The Snowman: Clint Eastwood's real-life drama Sully, starring Tom Hanks as the airline pilot who successfully landed his plane in New York's Hudson River after it struck a flock of geese, now has a release date of September 9, 2016. That's more than a year ahead of another newly set film, The Snowman, a thriller based on Jo Nesbo's best seller and starring Michael Fassbender and Rebecca Ferguson.
