Ted 2

Ted 2: Mark Wahlberg shared a photo of himself from Ted 2, now in production. Wahlberg sits astride an Indian Scout motorcycle; fans will note the logo for Flash Gordon, a key reference to the first film. Ted 2 is heading for release on June 26, 2015. [Twitter via Collider]

 

Zoolander

Zoolander 2: Ben Stiller and Justin Theroux announced way back in January 2011 (?!) they'd completed a script for a sequel to Zoolander, which includes the return of fashion executive Mugatu, played by Will Ferrell. More recently Theroux has said things may finally be moving forward, and now Ferrell says: "We are actually supposed to do a read-through of a sequel script soon." A glimmer of hope for those of us who want to see more Zoolander zaniness. [The Hollywood Reporter]

 

Life of Pi

Billy Lynn's Long Halftime Walk: Ang Lee (Life of Pi) is under consideration to direct Billy Lynn's Long Halftime Walk, based on Ben Fountain's dark, satirical novel about a young soldier's service during the Iraq War. Lee is still making preparations for a large-scale 3D movie that revolves around the "Thrilla in Manilla" championship boxing match between Muhammad Ali and Joe Frazier, but may have time to make a more intimate film before that starts production. Effie Gray

Effie Gray Trailer: Emma Thompson and Dakota Fanning star in period drama Effie Gray, due in theaters in November. Thompson also wrote the screenplay, which focuses on a romantic triangle that develops between Fanning, her older art-critic husband (Greg Wise) and a handsome young artist (Tom Sturridge).
