The Exorcist: A new version of William Peter Blatty's 1971 novel The Exorcist is heading to television. It's described as a "propulsive, serialized psychological thriller" about two men trying to help a family dealing with demonic possession. The success of the first screen adaptation, William Friedkin's 1973 horror classic, inspired two sequels and two prequels. Lady Bird: Saoirse Ronan, who recently received an Academy Award nomination for Best Actress for her performance in Brooklyn (above), will star in Lady Bird, the directorial debut of actress and writer Greta Gerwig (Mistress America). A Prophet: Sam Raimi is in early talks to direct A Prophet, a remake of a gritty French crime drama. Dennis Lehane (The Drop) wrote the new adaptation.
