Flatliners: Diego Luna (Rogue One: A Star Wars Story) is in negotiations to star opposite Ellen Page in a new version of the 1990 thriller Flatliners. Niels Arden Oplev (The Girl with the Dragon Tattoo) is set to direct. The original followed a group of medical students who seek to experience a condition of clinical death and then return to life. Star Wars: Episode VIII: "It's such a good story! Seriously." Before the Academy Awards broadcast this past Sunday, Daisy Ridley sounded excited as she described Star Wars: Episode VIII, which is now in production. She also says that Luke Skywalker (Mark Hamill) will be "so cool" in the movie. For more details, we'll have to wait until closer to the theatrical release on December 15, 2017. [MTV]
The Divergent Series: Ascendant: Lee Toland Krieger (The Age of Adaline) is in talks to direct The Divergent Series: Ascendant, the fourth and final installment of the popular franchise. He would replace Robert Schwentke, who helmed the previous two episodes. Ascendant is scheduled to start shooting in the summer, heading for release on June 9, 2017. Louder Than Bombs Trailer: Jesse Eisenberg stars in the first trailer for Louder Than Bombs. The drama revolves around a father and his two sons who are still dealing with the loss of their wife and mother, respectively, a famous war photographer.
