Ghostbusters: Chris Hemsworth has joined the new version of Ghostbusters. Director Paul Feig shared the news via social media, describing the actor as "our receptionist," which sounds equivalent to the role played by Annie Potts in the original. Melissa McCarthy, Kristen Wiig, Kate McKinnon, Cecily Strong and Leslie Jones are set to star; the movie will open on July 22, 2016. [Twitter]

Pitch Perfect 3: Musical-comedy sequel Pitch Perfect 2 has grossed $250 million worldwide, on top of the first film's haul of more than $115 million, so it's no surprise that Pitch Perfect 3 is indeed on its way, confirming an earlier report. Kay Cannon (above left), who wrote the first two movies, is in negotiations to write a script for the next installment. Previously, Rebel Wilson said she was already signed up, although a new report claims that Hailee Steinfeld, who costarred in Pitch Perfect 2 (above right with director Elizabeth Banks), is the only cast member confirmed for another sequel. X-Men: Apocalypse

X-Men: Apocalypse: Director Bryan Singer shared a new behind-the-scenes photo from X-Men: Apocalypse. The shot revolves around Quicksilver, the lightning-fast mutant played by Evan Peters; Singer added the caption: "Just another day at the office." The movie is due in theaters on May 19, 2016.
