Oh Fandango readers … I don’t think we’re in Kansas, anymore.

In the first of what’s expected to be three poster reveals, we get to meet the Wicked Witch from director Sam Raimi’s Oz the Great and Powerful, a fantasy adventure that will take audiences somewhere over the rainbow one more time to explain how a magician from Kansas (James Franco) became the Wizard of the strange land.

In Raimi’s film, Franco’s character encounters three eccentric witches – played by Mila Kunis, Rachel Weisz and Michelle Williams – though it’s unclear at the moment which goes on to becomes the Wicked Witch of the West (and which ends up under Dorothy’s house the moment it comes crashing down in Oz).

Raimi’s picture reaches theaters in 2D and 3D on March 8. This beautiful poster (shared via Yahoo Movies) does tip its hat to a bit more of Oz’s design, which has more in common with Tim Burton’s Alice in Wonderland than it does with the original Wizard movie.

What do you think? Are you excited about a return trip to Oz?
