If your kids have seen the animated original, they’re sure to be excited the new live-action take on The Jungle Book. When our family saw the trailer, we all got goose bumps! Inspired by the movie, we made some fun vine necklaces to wear when we head to the theater. They are super easy to make and are a great craft to do with the kids on a rainy spring afternoon.
White paper or card stock
Green crayons in different shades
Tape or glue
Step 1: Take your paper and cut a strip off, then fold it in half. Think about what colors you’d like your leaves to be and get the kids to use the crayons to color them in first. You can also do this after you create the leaves, but this is way easier!
Step 2: Using your scissors, cut out leaf shapes making sure to keep the crease intact. You want the leaves to be able to open up with a mirrored image of itself. It’s just like making hearts for Valentine’s Day. Do this as many times as you like. The more the merrier.
Step 3: Cut a length of cord long enough to fit over your child’s head and attach the leaves using tape. This is why we wanted to have the leaves open up. Just wrap them around the cord and then tape or glue them shut.
Step 4: Tie a strong knot in your cord to complete the necklace.
Now you’re ready for a swinging good time. Enjoy the necklaces and the movie.
