Soon dancer/actor/producer/Sexiest Man Alive Channing Tatum will swagger back into theaters with Magic Mike XXL this week. To toast his return as well as his rise over the past decade, we're taking a look back at his many looks, from humble supporting player, to drool-inducing love interest, and devastatingly charismatic leading man.

10. Coach Carter (2005)

The Look: Playing a baller from a bad neighborhood, Tatum sported a shaved head with his school colors and oversized sweats.

Why It Works: Not yet a leading man, this shorn style helped Tatum look tough and stand out even in a small role.

Bonus Fun Fact: This was Tatum's film debut.

 9. She's the Man (2006)

The Look: More often than he sported soccer shorts and jerseys, Tatum was simply shirtless. Between this and a hot buzz cut, this was the look that launched untold crushes.

Why It Works: As Duke, Tatum was meant to be the crazy cute guy who was shy around girls. His style here suggested Duke wasn't vain, just effortlessly gorgeous. NBD.

Bonus Fun Fact: She's the Man is an irreverent adaptation of William Shakespeare's Twelfth Night.

8. Step Up (2006)

The Look: While Tatum rocked everything from tanks, tees and hoodies in this career-launching dance movie, let us never forget how he made a janitor jumpsuit look good.

Why It Works: This dance drama was all about Tatum's moves. So the tight tanks and flowing fabrics of his pants paired with bright white sneakers made for a look that emphasized each motion. Gene Kelly would have been impressed.

Bonus Fun Fact: Tatum went on to marry his Step Up costar Jenna Dewan in 2009.

7. Public Enemies (2009)

The Look: In 1930s America, even criminals wore suits. So Tatum dressed to impress in his fleeting but unforgettable role as Pretty Boy Floyd, with true to life long locks to boot.

Why It Works: Period accurate attire plus a suitable face for a man called "Pretty Boy" makes for an on-point beginning to this dark historical drama.

Bonus Fun Fact: While his costume was historically accurate, Tatum's Pretty Boy Floyd scene was not. Screenwriters distorted the timeline of his death and its circumstances to build a more dramatic narrative for stars Christian Bale and Johnny Depp.

6. 21 Jump Street (2012)

The Look: He's dashing as a boy in blue, and crushable in his contemporary casuals. But our favorite look from this reboot comes from the flashback sequence where a Lancelot-locked Tatum donned a purple letterman's jacket and a bad attitude.

Why It Works: It's a reminder of the youthful errors in fashion we're all prone to. Plus, it's a great contrast to Jenko's prom look in all its white-tux glory. By the end he is a butterfly, emerged from its tacky fashion cocoon!

Bonus Fun Fact: Tatum turned this movie down twice before its cowriter and costar Jonah Hill convinced him to give it a shot.

5. Magic Mike (2012)

The Look: Proving you can be dressed to the nines and a little naughty, Tatum kept the cuffs and collar, but ditched the dress shirt. And for this we thank him.

Why It Works: Tatum bare-chested has practically become his signature look.

Bonus Fun Fact: Magic Mike is loosely based on Tatum's time as a male exotic dancer before he hit it big in the movies.

4. This Is the End (2013)

The Look: The strangest style Tatum has tried, it's a cross between Mad Max and Magic Mike with a dash of Nacho Libre.

Why It Works: Because this apocalyptic comedy was completely bonkers, just like his ensemble.

Bonus Fun Fact: Tatum was a surprise cameo in this star-stuffed summer movie.

3. White House Down (2013)

The Look: Though he starts this excellent action flick suited up, Tatum soon strips down to a classic white, paired with business slacks and a necklace made by his on-screen daughter (Joey King).

Why It Works: To deny audiences Tatum's muscle-bound arms would be a crime.

Bonus Fun Fact: Tatum's look here was inspired by Bruce Willis' in Die Hard, which in itself was an inspiration for White House Down. But--lucky for him--Tatum got to keep his shoes on.

2. Foxcatcher (2014)

The Look: Playing real-life Olympic wrestler Mark Schultz, Tatum wore 1980s-era sports attire as well as prosthetic makeup that changed the shape of his nose, lips and ears to better reflect his character’s rough and tumble past.

Why It Works: These subtle changes played down Tatum's good looks just enough so he could effortlessly slide into this disturbing biopic.

Bonus Fun Fact: The scene where Tatum smashes his face against a mirror, breaking it and causing his forehead to bleed, was real. He got so into the moment he head-butted the mirror and actually--and accidentally--cut himself.

1. Jupiter Ascending (2015)

The Look: Prosthetic makeup played a key role for Tatum's appearance in this sci-fi adventure, hinting to his character's animal-hybrid backstory. Along with blond hair and a goatee, Tatum strutted with a metallic tattoo, pointed ears and rocket boots.

Why It Works: Directors Lana and Andy Wachowski set out to make Tatum an otherworldly hunk. Mission accomplished.

Bonus Fun Fact: Tatum kept his prosthetic ears as a memento of making this movie.
