So you just picked up a new iPad over the holidays, and now you're trying to comb the internet in search of the must-have apps to download. Well, guess what – we've got one for ya. Yes, we're proud to announce that we here at Fandango have just launched our new iPad app, and it's a thing of beauty. Our iPhone app has already ranked as high as #1 among free entertainment applications, and it's been hanging around the Top 100 in the App Store for awhile now. Thus, we thought it was time to bring everything you love about our iPhone app (plus more) over to the iPad, so that no matter where you are or where you go, you'll be able to take Fandango with you.
Here are a few cool features from the new iPad app:
• "The Pulse," a visual representation of the company's hottest ticket sellers, viewable in both list and map formats.
• Movie reviews from professional critics and film fans alike, plus movie-related tweets, all on one large Multi Touch screen.
• Map integration that knows a moviegoer's location and helps her find titles, theaters, showtimes and tickets.
• Expanded video, photos, trailers, clips and exclusive interview features that take advantage of the large, high-resolution HD display.
Don't have an iPad yet, don't worry about it. Fandango apps are also available for the iPhone, Android, Blackberry, Palm and Windows Phone 7. To date, they've been downloaded more than 10 million times, so you know they're legit.
If you're attending CES this week, then keep an eye out for Fandango, with execs speaking at panels at Digital Hollywood, as well as reps showing off our spiffy new iPad app all around the convention. Among other things, they'll be highlighting "The Pulse", one of our coolest new features, which allows you to get a random snapshot of which films will be the winners and losers of any given weekend. For example, in the last week of the year, you could see that tickets for True Grit, Little Fockers and Black Swan were selling like hot cakes, whereas not as many were being sold for Gulliver's Travels 3D.
