For fans of supernatural animated cinema, this feels like a miniature Golden Age.

ParaNorman enchanted audiences with the tale of a plucky kid who could speak to the dead. Adam Sandler, Kevin James and Andy Samberg are about to entertain audiences of all ages in Hotel Transylvania (out 9/28). And just in time for Halloween, Tim Burton will get his Frankenweenie into theaters in a crisp, 3D and IMAX presentation. We have our first official clip from the film to share below.

Walt Disney Pictures will distribute Burton’s story, a spin on the classic Frankenstein tale about a boy who brings his dog back from the dead … with bizarre consequences. The cast is populated with veterans of Burton’s past hits, from Winona Ryder and Catherine O'Hara to Martin Landau and Martin Short.

The new clip boasts a Vincent Price-inspired teacher planting the seed of electrical resurrection into young Victor’s mind. What happens next? Find out when Frankenweenie opens in theaters on Oct. 5.
