This in from Stacie Hougland: The phenomenon that is Juno is like, totally topping charts and busting records everywhere. It hit number one at the box office (Monday only) with a $1.4 million gross in its expansion to 1,925 theaters, edging out National Treasure 2 and I Am Legend, which earned $1.3 mil and $1.1 mil respectively on twice the number of screens. Having made a reported $52 million on a budget of $2.5 mil, the pic about a back-talking pregnant teen looks on track to beat top grossing indies Sideways and Little Miss Sunshine.

Then there’s Juno’s funky, folky indie-rock soundtrack, which went on sale Jan. 8 but has been available on iTunes since Dec. 11. It debuted at No. 8 on the Billboard 200 and reached No. 1 on SoundScan’s digital album charts. And who knew? Juno’s star Ellen Page was actually the one who introduced director Jason Reitman to the Moldy Peaches, whose singer Kimya Dawson provided a number of tracks for the film (Ellen and Michael Cera sing the Peaches' “Anyone Else But You” in the movie). The eclectic album also features 19 songs from The Kinks, Sonic Youth, Mott the Hoople, Belle & Sebastian and others.

Meanwhile, if you’re curious, Fox Searchlight has posted the script online, which you can download for free. We love that.
