With just over a month away till the release of this summer's first big movie, Iron Man 2, get ready for a marketing onslaught full of more Iron Man nonsense than you'll know what to do with. While we've been informed that they're gearing up to release another new interactive trailer, as well as some games and viral videos, the marketing blitz has already begun this week with the release of some new images, one viral video featuring Tony Stark's dad and an IMAX trailer reminding you that this sucker will come equipped for bigger screen watchability.
The photos are pretty standard, except for the one featuring Mickey Rourke with a bird on his shoulder. That bird was Rourke's idea; he wanted something to talk to while his character got drunk and built the Whiplash costume. Will the creative spark come back to whip him in the face? Too early to tell – sometimes villains with pets work, and sometimes they don't. Which one will this be?
We told you about that viral video featuring Tony Stark's dad (as played by actor John Slattery), and here it is. It's a profile of the Stark Expo from 1974. Might seem a little confusing now, but sit tight – they're doing a lot more with this, and I have a feeling it'll play into the sequel's storyline in some way, shape or form. Check it out below …
