Heading toward release on January 24, 2014, I, Frankenstein looks to be a new-fangled version of the classic novel by Mary Shelley, first published in 1818. But a new poster (via Bloody Disgusting) calls attention to a salient point: this monster is actually older than he looks.

I, Frankenstein

The poster invites a closer look at scars and wrinkles that the creature, played by Aaron Eckhart, has earned, with the tagline: "200 Years Later, He's Still Alive." (Technically, he's only 195 years of age, but close enough.) The official synopsis informs us: “Two hundred years after his shocking creation, Dr. Frankenstein’s creature, Adam, still walks the Earth. But when he finds himself in the middle of a war over the fate of humanity, Adam discovers he holds the key that could destroy humankind."

Yvonne Strahovski, Bill Nighy and Miranda Otto also star. The film will be released in 3D and will also be available to watch in IMAX 3D.
