It's been almost a decade since Josh Hartnett arrived on the scene, but to look at him, you sure wouldn't know it. He still looks a lot like the football hero next door: a sort of perpetual Gen Y version of a younger Harrison Ford.

In the years since he debuted as Jamie Lee Curtis's son in Halloween: H20, the laid-back actor has had his share of career ups (Sin City) and downs (Here on Earth), but he seems as taciturn and unphased as ever, and this weekend, he's back in the genre that gave him his hit start.

Box office forecaster ReelSource predicts 30 Days of Night, a vampire thriller based on a series of popular horror comics, will come in at number one with $16 million.

It will face stiff competition, though, from last week's top movie, pop phenomenon Tyler Perry's latest domestic dramedy, Why Did I Get Married?

Personally, I'm just glad to finally have a Halloween movie this season to go see on the big screen, and Hartnett's been a steady, capable hero leading potential victims away from slasher icons and killer aliens in Halloween: H20 and The Faculty.

Vampires? They should be no problem for this big guy.
