Do you watch 24? Do you like the TV show enough to pony up some cash and watch it on the big screen? Apparently the folks behind the show think so, because 20th Century Fox's film and TV studios are teaming up to create a big-screen version of 24 with Billy Ray (State of Play, Flightplan) writing the script.

24

As far as what mess hero Jack Bauer (Kiefer Sutherland) will get himself into this time, we do not know, except that the adventure will take him to Europe. In fact, it was Sutherland's idea in the first place, and he's the one who really wants to turn 24 into a feature film franchise now that it's had a very successful run on television. Recent TV-to-film hits like Sex and the City prove that anything is possible, especially when there's obviously a hunger out there for suspenseful, run-and-gun thrillers like the Bourne and James Bond movies.

However, let's not move too fast, because Variety also says that a movie deal all depends on what happens with the TV show, which so far hasn't been picked up for a ninth season. One imagines any 24 movie would stick to a one-off storyline that isn't intricately tied to the TV series since they'd want to bring in as many new fans as possible.

Your thoughts on this? Could you see 24 as a movie, or does it belong on TV?
