The man who won over our hearts as a little kid on the television show Diff’rent Strokes has passed away at the age of 42. Coleman was in the hospital since Thursday in critical condition after suffering from a brain hemorrhage which stemmed from a fall. Though conscious when he entered the hospital, Coleman’s condition worsened over the next 24 hours, eventually falling into a coma forcing doctors to put him on life support. Unfortunately, Coleman never woke up, and he was taken off life support a little while ago.
Though most of his years were spent entertaining audiences on television (he was on Diff’rent Strokes for 10 years), Coleman did manage to pick up roles in a number of random films, including earlier stints in movies like On the Right Track and Jimmy the Kid to his latest efforts in 2008’s An American Carol and the 2009 film Midgets vs. Mascots. Though Coleman suffered from various health issues throughout his entire life, he’ll be remembered as a man who always tried to make the best of things and always tried to have a sense of humor about his situation and his place in the world. He will be missed.
