A horror movie set at a summer camp for musical teens, Stage Fright defies easy categorization. On its simplest terms, it's a slasher flick with show tunes, something like Friday the 13th meets Glee. Rock music veteran Meat Loaf stars as the beleagured camp owner, whose daughter (Allie MacDonald) wants to sing on Broadway. Meanwhile, she's stuck in the kitchen with her grouchy brother (Douglas Smith), as preparation for the camp's big show gets underway, and a serial killer begins stalking the kids.
Writer/director Jerome Sable freely mixes irreverent comedy, bloody violence, and cheery musical numbers -- so how do you convey all that in a movie poster? Here's the official poster, followed by four alternative posters that take different artistic approaches to lure you into seeing a unique and refreshing horror movie.
Stage Fright is now available on iTunes and On Demand, and will open in select theaters on Friday, May 9.
