We should all know by now that Megan Fox was booted from Transformers 3 and replaced by a Victoria's Secret model named Rosie Huntington-Whiteley. Now, I have nothing against Huntington-Whiteley (with the exception of her name being harder to memorize and type than Megan Fox), but knowing Michael Bay went and replaced the film's lead actress with a lingerie model at the last minute, in all likelihood that means she doesn't have much to do in the film but look pretty and wear skimpy outfits.
Granted, that's basically a description of Megan Fox's character through two films, but still – a lead actress is important in a big blockbuster, and in my opinion they should've replaced Megan Fox with someone who has experience, ya know, acting. Here are five actresses I would've liked to see in there instead …
Scarlett Johansson – It's about time these Transformers movies involved a tough female lead, and Scar-Jo proved she could kick butt in this summer's Iron Man 2. Why not throw her in there, and maybe she could whip Shia LaBeouf into shape at the same time.
Emma Stone – You've seen her in films like Superbad and Zombieland, and it's about time Emma Stone popped up in a big summer blockbuster like Transformers. Though she may be a little too smart for the script, I would've loved to see Stone slide in as a cute computer hacker who rejects all of LaBeouf's romantic advances.
Chloe Moretz – This young up-and-comer blazed through bad guys in Kick-Ass and plays a vampire in the upcoming Let Me In. How cool would it have been to see a young girl cause some damage to a bunch of those unruly Decepticons?
Moon Bloodgood – First of all, she's got an awesome name and I'd cast her based on that alone. Secondly, she already battled a ton of robots in last year's Terminator Salvation, and looked super sexy (and badass) while doing it. Why not bring her on for some more robot destruction?
Zoe Saldana – Between Star Trek, Avatar and The Losers, Saldana more than proved that she can handle an action-packed blockbuster with her eyes closed. Plus, she looks incredibly sexy holding a gun. And to someone like Michael Bay, that could go a long way.
