Maybe it's just me, but there's still something to be said for going the CGI-less route. For every great digital effect (e.g. the superhero outfit in Iron Man, which, like the movie and its lead star, is fantastic), there are many more that don't quite fit the bill (say, the not-so-legendary walking dead in I Am Legend).

Those who loved the Land of the Lost t.v. show will be glad to know then that director Brad Siberling will remain true to creators Sid & Marty Kroft's orginial kitschy sci-fi vision. The big screen version finds Will Ferrell and friends seeking a mystical portal home to their own dimension while evading dinosaurs, monkey men and those weird-looking horned creatures, the Sleestak.

And, in keeping with the 'real guys in green pjs' theme, the Sleestak will remain that way, albeit with more expensive-looking scales and bug eyes. One other change, according to USA Today...instead of using crossbows, the lizard people will pull quills from their spines and shoot them like arrows (yikes!). Below's a first look...

Take us to your leader, Will Ferrell...or suffer the spiny consequence.
