We still have a good year before Steven Spielberg and Peter Jackson's motion-captured collaboration hits theaters, but Empire has a sneak peek of what to expect right now. The British magazine teases that their new issue will unveil images of all the film's characters, but for now they've unveiled two stills from The Adventures of Tintin: The Secret of the Unicorn, as well as the cover of their latest issue, which features a mo-capped recreation of Tintin's iconic poster.

Tintin is already extremely well known across the pond, but not really as much stateside. The young Belgian investigative reporter, who goes on a series of adventures with his trusty dog Snowy, first began as a comic strip in the late 1920s, and has continued to entertain fans with over 20 books throughout the years. In the upcoming film, due out next December, Jamie Bell will voice the role of Tintin, while Steven Spielberg directs. The goal is to make multiple films, and so if a sequel does make it to production, Peter Jackson will be at the helm.

Speaking about the look of the movie, Peter Jackson said, "With live action you're going to have actors pretending to be Captain Haddock and Tintin. You'd be casting people to look like them. It's not really going to feel like the Tintin Hergé drew. It's going to be somewhat different. With CGI we can bring Hergé's world to life, keep the stylised caricatured faces, keep everything looking like Hergé's artwork, but make it photo-real."
