Disney is known for the comprehensive research that goes into the making of its films, and the latest, Disney's Moana, is no different. In it, a spirited teenage girl named Moana teams up with the demigod Maui on a daring journey to save her people. To capture the spirit of the South Pacific, directors John Musker and Ron Clements knew how important it was for the creators to actually visit places like Samoa, Fiji and Tahiti and get to know the culture, the people and the traditions that truly set them apart. (Yes, we're jealous too!)
In the special featurette "The Way to Moana,' brought to you by Disney, find out from the cast and crew details about what went into creating the music, the actual sailing vessels Polynesians used to cross the Pacific waters, the unbelievably gorgeous island settings that served as the movie's backdrop and the people filmmakers got to know. Disney's Moana is in theatres Wednesday in 3D.
