Family Movie Night: Throw an Unbearably Cute Teddy Bear Tea Party

If you're looking to invite some cuddly stuffed animals to your next family movie night, then have we got an idea to make it extra special! DQ® and FandangoNOW invite fans to watch family classics for $1.99 -- and while you're settling in to watch a memorable film with your loyal and beloved stuffed animals at your side, why not celebrate the occasion with a teddy bear tea party, complete with macarons, marmalade cream cheese tea sandwiches and, of course, marmalade bear scones!

Mini macarons in a variety of flavors add beautiful colors to the table. Sweet bites of raspberry, pear, caramel and chocolate are all too tempting for a little bear (or child) to pass up.

Simple tea sandwiches are made with thin bread, a layer of cream cheese followed by tangy sweet orange marmalade. Don’t forget to cut the crusts off!

When it comes to the star of the show, no tea party is complete without scones. These delightful bear-shaped scones are made with a healthy dollop of fruity preserves that sweetens the treat, through and through. Finished off with a red fruit leather hat, these scones are irresistable.

Please look after this bear and enjoy your own fabulously fun teddy bear tea party before or after you watch the movie!

Teddy Bear Tea Scones

(makes 10)

Ingredients:

2 cups all-purpose flour

1/2 cup sugar

1 teaspoon baking powder

pinch of salt

1/2 cup (1 stick) butter, softened

1/2 cup cream

1 egg

1 teaspoon vanilla

1/4 cup orange marmalade

chocolate chips and mini chocolate chips

fruit leather (optional)

Instructions:

Preheat the oven to 375 degrees. Prep a baking sheet with a nonstick baking mat

In a bowl, whisk together flour, sugar, baking powder and salt.

Add the butter, cream, egg, and vanilla until just combined.

Fold in the orange marmalade.

This mixture is slightly sticky, so flour your hands before handling. Form small balls of dough and pat into three-inch flat discs. Add a little more for the snout area as well as for the ears. Place on the prepped nonstick baking mat.

Add chocolate chips for the nose and mini chocolate chips for the eyes.

Bake for 14 minutes depending on your oven and let cool on a wire rack.

To make little edible hats for the bear scones, take a  2” x 5” piece of fruit leather and cut a curve across the center lengthwise. This will be the brim of the hat. With extra piece, round the corners and place onto the bear scones head, adding the brim on top to complete.
