Fans of Demitri Martin appreciate his heady and unconventional brand of comedy, in which he often uses music, drawings and performance art to accompany his deadpan one-liners. Dean, in select theaters June 2, is the offbeat comic's feature-film writing-and-directing debut, in which he stars as an illustrator having trouble getting over his mother's death. Meanwhile, his dad (Kevin Kline) is moving on, hoping to sell the family home and starting a new relationship while Dean ventures from New York to L.A. to search for his own happiness.
