Joseph Gordon-Levitt leads an all-star cast including Shailene Woodley, Melissa Leo, Tom Wilkinson, Zachary Quinto and Timothy Olyphant in Snowden, which chronicles the story of computer whiz Edward Snowden -- a onetime CIA technologist who famously leaked top-secret NSA files to journalists that were eventually published worldwide. The revelation was massive: The U.S.'s National Security Agency had developed programs to gain incredibly deep access to millions of people's personal information, down to personal photos, e-mail, cell phones and Google accounts, in conjunction with intelligence agencies in Canada, Australia and the U.K. After witnessing the director of national intelligence deny the data-collection accusations to Congress, Snowden leaked the first of thousands of documents to the press and left the county to avoid being arrested for espionage.
In this clip from the movie, directed by Oliver Stone and based on two books about the whistleblower whom some call a true patriot, Snowden gets a firm lesson: "Secrecy is security, and security is victory." How does he react? Find out when Snowden comes to theaters September 16.
