Whether you’ve already seen Deadpool 2 or not, there’s reason to go again. The sequel, starring Ryan Reynolds as Marvel’s “merc with a mouth,” is returning to theaters under a new title: Once Upon a Deadpool. Well, it’s not quite the same movie, as the name isn’t the only thing that’s changed. What exactly can you expect with the re-release? Here’s everything we know:

What makes Once Upon a Deadpool different than Deadpool 2?

As Deadpool admits in one of the trailers for Once Upon a Deadpool, he’s being tested out for the more-reserved waters of a Disney movie. Because the Deadpool franchise’s studio, Fox, has been acquired by the Mouse House, and they don’t tend to put out such graphic and profane material, the R-rated Deadpool 2 has now been turned into a PG-13 movie.

How is that possible? Is the movie five minutes long?

Although some scenes are likely to have been omitted for the new version, Once Upon a Deadpool promises to be coherent enough with the changes. And, really, all they had to do was bleep out the R-rated language (a lot of it) and digitally erase some of the blood, and there’s an added level of comedy to the censoring. Once Upon a Deadpool is, in fact, 116 minutes, compared to Deadpool 2’s 119 minutes.

So they just cut out three minutes?

Not exactly. While more than three minutes were probably taken out of the movie, there is also additional material in Once Upon a Deadpool. Mostly this consists of a framing device starring Reynolds as Deadpool and Fred Savage as “himself” paying homage to his character from the framing device of the 1987 fantasy film classic The Princess Bride. The premise is that Deadpool has kidnapped Savage to read him the story of Deadpool 2. There are also reportedly a couple new post-credits scenes, including a special tribute to Stan Lee.

The rest is everything we love about Deadpool 2?

Pretty much, minus the F-word and some other minor stuff that’s totally inappropriate for a family audience. You’ve still got Deadpool teaming up with Domino (Zazie Beetz) as they deal with badass mutant from the future Cable (Josh Brolin) trying to murder a dangerous young mutant played by Julian Dennison. There are still tons of laughs courtesy of screenwriters Rhett Reese and Paul Wernick and awesome action from director David Leitch.

Is there any extra special reason to throw more money at a re-release of Deadpool 2?

Yeah! For every ticket purchased for Once Upon a Deadpool, Fox is donating $1 to the charity Fudge Cancer (also known as F*ck Cancer), which is devoted to the prevention and early detection of cancer.

When does the re-release happen?

Fox is releasing Once Upon a Deadpool on December 12, and the movie will be in theaters through December 24 only.
