Gavin Hood’s adaptation of Orson Scott Card’s seminal sci-fi novel Ender’s Game floored the Comic-Con crowds in Hall H with its stunning footage of an interstellar war waged by young kids. Now, you can enjoy most of the same footage without leaving the comfort of your living room.
Summit Entertainment released the latest full trailer for Ender’s Game, which is arriving in theaters in November. From the looks of the latest footage, it looks like Hood is sparing no expense in creating a massive galaxy for young Ender Wiggin (Asa Butterfield) to play in and defend. The story, culled from Card’s book, takes place in a distant future where our planet has been attacked and decimated by an alien race known as the Formics. Now, in an effort to preserve our society, Colonel Graff (Harrison Ford) recruits and trains kid fighters like Ender and Petra (Hailee Steinfeld) to engage in combat and protect our crumbling world.
Ender’s Game had a massive presence in San Diego for Comic-Con, inviting fans to an interactive exhibit that featured costumes, props and footage from the upcoming movie. Summit, of course, hopes to attract the Twilight and Hunger Games crowds to Ender’s Game… though Hood’s sci-fi epic only has a few weeks in theaters before an actual Hunger Games movie – Catching Fire – competes alongside it on November 22.
