End of the Week Recap: Kurt Russell and Matt Dillon as Thieving Brothers, First Look at Jeremy Renner in 'Bourne Legacy' and the Stunning Angelina Jolie Look-a-like

Owen Wilson, Kristen Wiig and Christopher Walken are said to be "circling" a project  that has Paul Rudd already attached and Academy Award-winning director Errol Morris attached to direct. Titled Freezing People Is Easy, the story is set in the 1960s and based on a true story.

 

A mentally/dentally challenged man in Chicago was arrested for sitting in the front row of a recent screening of Alvin and the Chipmunks: Chipwrecked, naked. The man said that he was promised sex and drugs by a woman who asked him to sit in the front row, naked.

 

Taylor Swift and Amanda Seyfried have been offered roles in The King's Speech director Tom Hooper's adaptation of Les Miserables. Swift was offered the role of Eponine while Seyfried, who starred in 2008's ABBA-themed musical Mamma Mia!, was offered the role of Cosette. The cast already includes Hugh Jackman, Russell Crowe, Anne Hathaway, Helena Bonham Carter and Sacha Baron Cohen.

 

Much to no one's surprise, Paramount is moving forward with production on Paranormal Activity 4, to be released October 19th.

 

Speaking of Paramount, the studio is looking to make this December's World War Z the first movie in a trilogy. The zombie-themed action drama stars Brad Pitt.

 

Universal is considering making Bridesmaids 2 without star Kristen Wiig.

 

The Producers Guild and Writers Guild announced their nominations this week.

 

Elton John wants Justin Timberlake to portray him in a biopic titled Rocket Man.

 

Benedict Cumberbatch has signed on to play a villain in Star Trek II.

 

Don Cheadle says that his long-gestating Miles Davis biopic will be a "cubist gangster film."

 

Star Wars and Lord of the Rings swordsman Bob Anderson died on Monday. The former Olympic swordsman staged the fights seen in Star Wars and Rings, including donning Darth Vader's mask for The Empire Strikes Back and Return of the Jedi.

Warner Bros. has shut down production on the live-action Akira remake with hopes of lowering the budget from $90 million down to $60 million. The studio is also concerned about casting as they don't think the current talent involved can make the movie the blockbuster success they're hoping it will be.

A bunch of first/additional looks at 2012 movies as studios look to ramp up interest in their upcoming features.  First up is a new image from Men in Black III (May 25), followed by a new still for Abraham Lincoln: Vampire Hunter (June 22). Next up, your first look at Jeremy Renner in The Bourne Legacy (August 3) followed by two pics from the Naomi Watts/Ewan McGregor drama The Impossible (TBD 2012). Finally, Entertainment Weekly has the first look at Amanda Seyfried as porn star Linda Lovelace from the biopic movie Lovelace (TBD 2012).

Yahoo has premiered a new clip from Underworld Awakening. In this latest clip, Kate Beckinsale's Selene meets the Super Lycan. Underworld Awakening arrives in theaters January 20.
