Hermione Granger and Emma Watson go hand in hand, and they'll be associated for generations to come, but now the former Harry Potter starlet is set to embody another iconic character. Disney officially announced that Watson has been cast in a new, live-action rendition of Beauty and the Beast for the studio. Disney also has the live-action Cinderella coming out on March 13.

Naturally, Watson will be playing the beauty side of the title. And apparently it's always been a dream role for the actress, as she took to Facebook to share her excitement with fans:

Bill Condon, of The Twilight Saga: Breaking Dawn fame, will direct the new musical adaptation of the classic fairy tale. The most recent pass on the script was taken by Stephen Chbosky, who wrote and directed The Perks of Being a Wallflower starring Watson.

This is actually the second time that Watson has been attached to play Belle. She was set to star in Guillermo del Toro's Beauty for Warner Bros., but that movie never got off the ground, and so Disney picked up the phone and snatched her up instead.
