Earlier this week I announced the release of Quentin Tarantino’s Nazi-hunting drama-thriller starring Brad Pitt as the leader of a band of renegade soldiers (“the Basterds”) who relentlessly stalk their prey in Nazi-occupied France with help from a famous German actress (an excellent Diane Kruger). Meantime, a young German woman posing as a Gentile whose family was killed by Colonel Hans Landa (Christoph Waltz) years before plots her own brand of revenge against the Third Reich. Violent, over-the-top and compelling, Inglourious is a must-see. The pic has been topping critics’ awards all season, and this week the pic came away with three SAG and four Golden Globe noms in top categories including best picture.
