Kevin Costner is poised to have a very big year in 2014… and this is after he costarred in Man of Steel, a massive hit, in 2013. He’s graduating from grizzled TV star (Hatfields & McCoys) to dashing leading man – again. And we got a good look at what could be his biggest hit of the coming new year over the weekend in Draft Day.

While NFL fans across the country prepare for football’s playoffs, Costner and director Ivan Reitman revealed a new trailer for Draft Day, a sports drama that has the actor cast as the general manager of a Clevelend Browns team that’s angling for the top pick in the annual draft. 
 
Considering the fact that the real Browns just booted their head coach, this movie seems as timely as they come. The trailer dropped online. You can watch it below: 
 

 
You have to love the cast Reitman put around Costner. Frank Langella, Denis Leary and Jennifer Garner in a tough-talking, backdoor-dealing football drama? Sign us up. The only thing I can’t figure out is why Draft Day isn’t coming out during football season. Next year’s draft is set for May 8-10, so Draft Day will lead fans right up to that moment. But if I’m an NFL fan, and I’m either gearing up for the playoffs (or cursing the fact my team missed the dance), I might want to see this movie NOW!  
 
Costner, in the meantime, will star alongside Chris Pine in January’s Jack Ryan: Shadow Recruit. And later in 2014, he’ll lead the hard-charging 3 Days to Kill. Tell us, football fans. Are you signing up for Draft Day?
