Tyler Perry is off to a strong start in 2013 with Temptations of a Marriage Counselor. Despite continued backlash from critics, his films continue to produce respectable box office numbers, at least, respectable enough to allow him to keep making movies.
Perry takes on the producer role in next month's romantic comedy Peeples. The film stars Craig Robinson as a man who surprises his girlfriend (Kerry Washington) at a family reunion in the Hamptons. While Perry hands the writing and directing duties to Drumline's Tina Gordon Chism, the usual Perry movie clichés are bound to appear.
There's not much new in the latest trailer, which plays more like an extended TV spot. Peeples arrives in theaters May 10.
