It's officially time for you all to kick off those Sunday shoes because it looks like they’ve found someone cute and charming enough to replace Zac Efron in that Footloose remake: "Gossip Girl’s" Chace Crawford. I’m not very familiar with Crawford because I don’t watch "Gossip Girl" (!!), but he looks like the kind of guy you’d expect to see in a 2010 Footloose remake; like a replacement Zac Efron – all handsome and perfect.
But what about his special lady? In the original Footloose, that girl was Ariel Moore (as played by Lori Singer). While a whole bunch of female names are being tossed around – from Hayden Panettiere to Julianne Hough (via Entertainment Weekly) – word on the street has it that Miley Cyrus is also in the running, seeing as she knows how to sing and dance, as well as open a movie successfully. Plus I think she’d bring the right amount of attitude needed for the role. Remember, in the original Footloose, Ariel’s father is a Reverend; he’s the guy who says no dancing is allowed -- so she’s a tough cookie, and the actress who plays her needs to bring a little of the nasty … if you know what I mean.
