Clive Owen, Mia Wasikowska Offered Roles in Oldboy Remake

Over the weekend, Spike Lee's Oldboy remake handed out some new casting offers. Clive Owen, who previously worked with Lee on Inside Man was offered the villain role while Mia Wasikowska was offered the lead female role or Marie.

Lee is directing the remake from a combination of elements from Chan-wook Park's 2003 thriller, the Japanese manga it was based on as well as, "new elements that will throw off the audience who have already seen the original movie."
 
The story centers on Josh Brolin's lead character who is kidnapped and imprisoned for 15 years for unknown reasons. When he's finally released, he sets out to undercover the reason for his incarceration and enlists the help of a young woman he meets along the way, the part that, according to Twitch has been offered to Wasikowska.
 
Colin Firth, who was initially offered the villain role, turned it down, leaving only Brolin as the sole confirmed cast member.

Bond Girl Joins 300 Sequel
 
It feels like 300 came out over ten years ago and ever since its $450 million-plus box office gross, a potential sequel has loomed far in the distance. In reality, the movie came out in 2006 and while male actors continues to jump on and off the cast list, we have some traction in the female lead department.
 
Eva Green, aka the Bond Girl from Casino Royale, is in talks to join the cast of Warner Bros. 300 sequel 300: Battle of Artemisia. Green would play the titular lead female, Artemisia, described as a ruthless, gold-covered goddess who persuades Xerxes I of Persia to assemble his forces and helps to leads them into battle against the Greeks.
 
The script was written by Zack Snyder, who helmed the first movie but will give up the director's chair to Noam Murro (Smart People) for the sequel.
 
While this movie is far from arriving in theaters, especially since no male lead has been cast, would you like to see Green join the 300 universe?
