Remember how funny it was to watch Billy Bob Thornton play a nasty, foul-mouthed Santa in the film Bad Santa? Well, apply that same sort of concept to a middle-school teacher, then throw Cameron Diaz in the role. Variety tells us that Diaz will play a foul-mouthed gold digger in who, after being dumped by her boyfriend, competes against a rival colleague for the affections of the school's model teacher.

The raunchy comedy, which is actually called Bad Teacher, was written by Lee Eisenberg and Gene Stupnitsky, who, apart from writing for The Office and penning the comedy Year One, are the duo assigned to bring back the Ghostbusters for a third installment. And honestly, while a lot of people will probably knock this casting choice, I'm of the opinion that Cameron Diaz is a wayyy better actress (and way more fun to watch) when she's playing some stuck-up biotch versus the cute and cuddly love interest. Ever see her in Any Given Sunday? Loved her in that film.

What do you think? Can Cameron Diaz successfully pull off playing a dirty middle-school teacher?
