Clooney directs an adaptation of Daniel James Brown’s bestselling history of the 1936 U.S. Olympic rowing team, focusing on the eight-man boat manned by working-class young men from the University of Washington. The Great Depression and the lead-up to WWII serve as the backdrop for one of the greatest underdog tales in sports history.
