Grizzly (2014) / Bear (2010)

In movies like the family-friendly Paddington, teddy bears come to life in a warm, appealing manner that appeals to children. But as those children get older, they learn that toys sometimes hold potential dangers, and that real-life bears can be quite terrifying.

Grizzly (2014)

A bear gets angry and begins stalking humans in the Alaskan wilderness. James Marsden, Billy Bob Thornton, Piper Perabo and Scott Glenn hunt it. There will be blood.

Bear (2010)

Here's a suggestion: if your car breaks down in the middle of the night in the middle of nowhere, don't shoot the first bear that comes sniffing around! If you do, don't be surprised if you come under attack from another bear with revenge on his mind.

Toy Story 3 (2010)

While most people think of this Pixar entry as a movie for children, horror fans immediately recognized it as a very frightening expose on the terror of stuffed animals. That becomes quite apparent in this clip when Lotso (voiced by Ned Beatty), aka Lots-o'-Huggin' Bear, exerts his authoritarian power, making him the most terrifying bear in animated-movie history.

The Edge (1997)

Principally, this is a movie about survival after a small plane carrying billionaire Anthony Hopkins and photographer Alec Baldwin crashes in the Alaskan wilderness. Secondarily, however, it's about their chief animal adversary, a very large bear that objects to their invasion on his turf.

Prophecy (1979)

What happens in the wilderness when an innocent bear is befouled by toxic waste? Well, let's just say sleeping bags don't provide much protection against a rampaging monster bear.

Day of the Animals (1977)

Leslie Nielsen lays bare his chest and his unbridled psyche in this thriller that imagines what would happen if the depeletion of the ozone layer caused animals to start attacking humans. In this scene, Nielsen rages against God, before attacking a woman, and then taking on a bear, which isn't exactly friendly.

Grizzly (1976)

Hey, if you camp on a grizzly bear's feeding ground, don't be surprised if he comes knocking on your door, so to speak, and proceeds to eat you. Don't say we didn't warn you.
