Last spotted: The nation’s symbol of hope is now a fugitive. Captain America became a criminal when he scoffed at the Sokovia Accords, the newly implemented decree that stated the Avengers would operate under the authority of a United Nations panel. Iron Man and the Avengers failed to bring him in after an airport battle ensued.
He and Bucky Barnes escaped, though Secretary of State Thaddeus Ross was able to take Wanda Maximoff, Clint Barton, Scott Lang, and Sam Wilson into custody on The Raft. Cap eventually returned to break them out, and all of them have been off the grid since.
Updated description: Steve Rogers currently sports a full beard and altered Captain America suit. The red-white-and-blue colors on his outfit are now stained to darker colors, the star on his chest has been scratched off, and he’s more tactical in nature.

Current movements: Without his shield (he dropped it in front of Tony Stark), Steve has become more hardened. He and Natasha Romanoff have been working together underground, “flying under the radar but still taking care of business.” He’s been secretly running his own covert missions without answering to anybody. We gather he’s been leaning emotionally on the Black Widow agent, and together they’ve experience a little taste of Thanos in their own way. So when the Mad Titan arrives, they know the kind of danger he brings.
Current whereabouts: Captain Rogers was spotted landing in Wakanda after a skirmish with agents of Thanos. Accompanied by some of his other rogue allies, including an injured villain, he’s prepared to mobilze with King T’Challa’s army for an alien assault.
Picked up from agents: “Every single movie, he learns a little bit more that the world isn’t the way he wants it to be, and I think that’s why there’s a connection between him and Black Widow. Black Widow has seen a lot more than he has and is a little more calloused, and I think in a lot of ways, he looks up to that and learns from that. First it was kind of the hierarchy of a government structure that fell apart, and then there was a friendship that abandoned him. I think when those things happen, it’s like a destruction of a belief system to some degree, and you can be a little cold as a result.” — Chris Evans
