Last spotted: Tracking software lost track of Hulk in the aftermath of Ultron’s attack in Sokovia. He had commandeered a quinjet, which then crash-landed near Fiji. We have it on good authority that he traveled via wormhole to the planet Sakaar, where he became a gladiatorial star in the local games. From there, he met up with Thor and traveled to Asgard to save the kingdom from an antlered death god that looked like, and I quote, “Oscar winner Cate Blanchett.” While traveling aboard a ship containing Thor and the people of Asgard, they were accosted by one of Thanos’ ships.
Current whereabouts: Footage from the film’s trailers shows Hulk crash-landing through the Sanctum Sanctorum in New York City. But aerial surveillance shows Hulk has re-emerged as Bruce Banner in Wakanda.
The missing Avengers quinjet lands in the African nation as King T’Challa and his Dora Milaje welcome Steve Rogers (Captain America). Banner is among the entourage, as are Natasha Romanoff (Black Widow), James “Rhodey” Rhodes (War Machine), and Sam Wilson (Falcon). Wanda Maximoff (Scarlet Witch) is also present supporting a visibly injured Vision. Since Vision is made of the indestructible vibranium metal and Wakanda’s primary resource is vibranium, we’ve gathered Vision has come for repairs.
The line between Banner and Hulk are more blurred than ever. He spent the past few years as Hulk as a gladiator without shifting back to human form. As a result, Hulk can perform seemingly impossible feats… like expressing himself without destroying everything around him.
Picked up from agents: “Banner knows probably more about Thanos than probably anybody, and he's really trying to impress on everybody how dangerous he is. It's a little bit of a Chicken Little [scenario]. He comes in screaming bloody murder... He's seen what damage he can cause and how powerful he is, and the entire group is in disarray so he's also getting caught up on what's happened here and is trying to get them to transcend their differences and impress upon them how much danger they're actually facing.” – Mark Ruffalo
