I'm sure all you Martial Arts experts out there never thought that, after years upon years of training, you would be called upon to fight…Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles? In preparation for the all new live-action Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles movie (due in theaters in 2011), they're holding an open casting call for Martial Arts experts in Los Angeles this weekend for those interested. The best of the best will then land a part in the film as a member of the stealth TMNT nemesis, the Foot Clan.

The good news for those TMNT fans out there is that this casting notice lets on that the Foot Clan will indeed be part of the new film, which will most likely tell an origin story and include the infamous TMNT villain Shredder. But how will fans react to a live-action TMNT adventure? Sure, the original live-action film has its cult following, but that was in the early 1990s, and I'm sure fans will expect a lot more in 2011.

Here's some more information on the casting event:

The casting call is part of the 25th Anniversary Shell-ebration of the "Heroes on a Half Shell" in 2009, and a great way to bring together all schools of martial arts to become part of the new generation of TMNT.

We're reaching out to ask for your participation in spreading the word to your associates, friends and family within the martial arts community. Details of the event are below, and final rules/regulations will be posted shortly.
