Yesterday afternoon, the Annie Award nominations were announced and while the list is quite lengthy, we decided to put the big prize, best animated feature, up for a vote.

Each year the Annie Awards honors the best work in the field of animation – movies, TV and other media forms (hence the lengthy nominations list) and picking a winner this year might be difficult Frankenweenie was honored yesterday by the New York Film Critics Circle for best animated feature, but that doesn't necessarily mean that the animation community will follow suit.

The other contenders include Rise of the Guardians, Wreck-It Ralph, BraveHotel Transylvania and the French film The Rabbi's Cat, which is the only hand-drawn animated film, while stop-motion is represented with Frankenweenie, ParaNorman and The Pirates! Band of Misfits. Guardians, Brave and Wreck-It Ralph each have 10 nominations with Hotel Transylvania and ParaNorman notching eight nods apiece. Frankenweenie has six nominations while Pirates! has five.

Which animated feature is your choice for best animated film of 2012? The Annie Award winners will be announced on February 2 at UCLA's Royce Hall.
