After several straight-to-DVD spin-offs, it looks like the American Pie franchise is returning to theaters once again. According to The Wrap, Jason Biggs, Seann William Scott and Eugene Levy have signed on to the film – currently titled American Reunion – with folks like Thomas Ian Nicholas, Tara Reid, Chris Klein, Mena Suvari and Jennifer Coolidge in talks as we speak. Alyson Hannigan and Shannon Elizabeth are also wanted for roles, though there’s no word on how those negotiations are going, especially since Hannigan currently stars on a TV show and probably has a hectic schedule.

We assume things will still be a bit up in the air until the entire cast is set, since there will probably need to be script rewrites should they not be able to convince certain people to sign on. The title suggests a reunion of sorts – and considering each film has revolved around a big party or event, we imagine their high school reunion will be what brings the entire gang back together. Interestingly enough, the duo behind Harold and Kumar (Jon Hurwitz and Hayden Schlossberg) are the ones writing and directing, so expect plenty of raunchy hilarity to come from this fourth film.
