Up until now, you may have had up to three comic book movies on your summer movie watch list – Iron Man 3, Man of Steel and/or Kick-Ass 2. It's time to add R.I.P.D. to that list.
The first trailer of the Jeff Bridges/Ryan Reynolds team-up just arrived today and boy, does Bridges ever steal the show. The trailer is courtesy of Machinima.
For the uninitiated, R.I.P.D. is based on the comic book series by Peter Lenkov and published by Dark Horse. The story follows a young slain cop who joins a team of undead police officers who work for the Rest In Peace Department and tries to find the man who murdered him.
Stylistically, the trailer has elements of Men in Black, with some great comedic moments and alien/monsters hiding out among us. The film features an all-star cast that includes Kevin Bacon, Mary-Louise Parker and Marisa Miller along with Bridges and Reynolds.
