Do you love Dumbo? Does its tale of a young, underdog character learning that he had what it took to soar inside him all along resonate with you? Does just thinking about it put a smile on your face? If so, then the following news should make you happy: Disney has just hired Transformers screenwriter Ehren Kruger to not only write a live-action Dumbo movie, but to produce it as well.

Since the original movie is barely over an hour long, Kruger will be inserting a new storyline about a human family who somehow goes through an ordeal that parallels Dumbo's.

We're not sure who will be directing the project at this point, but Disney may go after a pretty high-profile name considering its other live-action movies have attracted the likes of Jon Favreau (The Jungle Book) and Bill Condon (Beauty and the Beast).

So, are you excited for a live-action Dumbo?
