The film “MANASU MALLIGE” deals with the caste system in India through the love story between an upper caste girl and a lower caste intelligent boy. It also deals with the infamous honor killing prevalent in few parts of rural India. The original film "Sairat" became extremely popular due to powerhouse performance of complete newcomer Rinku Rajguru and Aakash Thosar, Ajay-Atul's melodious music and tight script. The audience could easily identify with the pivotal characters, their rural style of dialogue delivery and social problems discussed in the film. The music has been scored by Ajay-Atul, who have retained the original score and just added Kannada lyrics in place of original Marathi ones.
