Guridiyal Singh Cheema is a 65year old respectable billionaire in Kuala Lampur, Malaysia and is fondly called "Daarji" by one and all. He is a hardcore Punjabi at heart. He longs to visit Punjab, but is unable to do so because of health issues. He has a niece, Nimmi who is his sole/only responsibility. He wants her to marry a Punjabi guy, but she already has a boyfriend named Rick, who Daarji doesn't approve of. Daarji gives an ultimatum to her stating that if she'll marry a Punjabi only then she'll inherit his property. Taken aback she devices a plan and leaves for India. On reaching Punjab she gets to know that her Massi has already fixed her wedding with the Sarpanch's son, Jeet. She gets to know about a guy Arjan who would do anything for money. She cracks a deal with him and marries him instead.
