Despite underwhelming worldwide box office numbers for Scream 4, Wes Craven has said that Scream 5 is very likely to happen. In an interview with Movieweb, Craven said that Scream 4 was intended to be the start of a new trilogy of Scream movies.
This will easily turn into the Saw movies. The longer it goes the less original each film gets. And people will get bored with them faster and faster. And it starts to diminish the awesomeness that was the first film.
Yes, I would watch it and purchase upon blu ray release
KILL Sidney off and then make a new movie. Because if she still survives in another SCREAM movie....well that would just be stupid and just plain cruel to her character.
Make another one and add Sarah Michelle Gellar!!!
Sarah Michelle Gellar was in the second Scream. I would of liked to see her kick more butt in the movie. They made her seem like another easy victim.
she died in part 2
I really enjoyed scream 4 so I wouldn't take it any further! But I would be there to watch it if it were released!
Perfect ending to these movies: Randy didn't die in Scream 2, he is THE Ghostfaces...that's why Sidney never dies!
Actually, Nathan, that's kind of...genius!!! I would LOVE to see that idea as the ending to the second trilogy! It makes a lot of sense that it's the very REASON why Sidney doesn't get killed, like he's controlling all of the various killers' actions, thereby torturing Sidney, yet preserving her at the same time because he has a love/hate obsession with her! They would have to make a REALLY plausible reason how everyone would've been fooled about his death for so many years, though....
I was hoping Scream 4 would be the last in the series because Ghostface is getting old. Please do not over due it like the Saw movies did. Scream 4 was a great movie with new different twists. Please do not ruin the series!
I am a die hard Scream fan and I really thought $ was a good way to open the scream universes to new comers. You did not need to see the the first trilogy to part 4. I would personally love for Sydney Prescott to become the Nest Laurie Srode seriously who knows Jamie Lee Curtis that doesn't think of Halloween. However if it barely broke even they may wish to just leave it be. Perhaps the video release will help it's numbers. As a scream fan if Craven still says their good I'm totally in!
YES, continue the story. i think scream has soooo much more to offer, so many choices on who to play the next Ghostface and i pray it gets to have the chance to do so
I would like to see more Scream movies, but make them interesting..more suspense and action. And throw more twists and surprises into the script, keep the people guessing and keep the storyline fresh. The Saw movies and Final Destination movies were good but it became the same movie, different year.
DID I MENTION PLEASE DO NOT LET MICHAEL BAY ANYWHERE NEAR THIS? JUST CHECKING.
Stop Final Destination and Saw! But continue Scream! Bring Neil Marshall or Alexandre Aje on Board as writers or somebody who made a good low budget indie film debut right out of film school. Get fresh talent, original plot ideas and stellar reviews and you'll have a new Scream movie that everyone will watch over and over and go, wow, this really makes up for 4! It can be done! DO NOT LET MICHAEL BAY PUT THE FINAL NAIL IN THE COFFIN!
yes yes love scream best storylines ever
No! No! No more!
No surprise. That aside, it doesn't even make sense financially, considering the box office numbers.
ummm the scream movies are classic cult movies.. Keep em coming!!!
Actually, I believe it "de-classic-ized" when the story continued after the 1st one- which wasn't even that great in itself. The only part I found enjoyable as a horror story was the opening where Drew Barrymore gets harrassed and eventually killed. Only that part alone was classic.
Wes... enough with this franchise! Don't you get it already? The fourth one really sucked and you have the ticket sales as proof that it's time to move on. Come up with something NEW! to scare us. So, sorry angelgirl1684... DON'T keep 'em coming!!!
I really liked the 4th one but I don't see how they can keep going. I liked how it ended.
there is no point in making any more when the fourth one sucked...;.if they barely broke even on the fourth why would they even consider make any others if they could actually lose money? by the fifth one im sure many people are going to feel that scream is just getting played out and they are not going to even go see the fifth one. i found the 4th to be more funny than scary.....if they made any more dont you think that people would ask "how many other people could possibly be the killer and in some way be connected to sidney?" i really dont see the point, i really didnt see the point in the fourth one...i only went becuase i work at a theater and can go for free. i dont see with how the fourth ended where they would go to make any more..
Scream overstayed its welcome for me about 5 minutes into Scream 1. But that's just me.
NO, leave it the way the 4th ended! it ended perfectly...STOP right there!!
"Welcome to the party, pal."
"I am serious... and don't call me Shirley."
"When am I gonna learn how to punch?"
"These go to eleven."
"Benjamin, have you ever been severely beaten about the face & neck?"
"Just keep swimming, swimming, swimming."
"You're gonna need a bigger boat."
"Jessica's got cable."
