Three New Viral Video Clips for 'Paranormal Activity 3' Showcase Creepy VHS Footage and Lots of Static

The viral marketing campaign for Paranormal Activity 3 has begun, with VHS tapes and VCRs being sent to website editors for Shock Til You Drop, Bloody Disgusting and Dread Central. While each recorded the VHS footage on a handheld camera, the videos have since made their way up onto YouTube.

Paranormal Activity 3 takes place back in 1988 when sisters Katie and Kristi (whose adult versions were played by Katie Featherston and Sprague Grayden in previous Paranormal movies) were young girls. This third movie is thus a prequel and sheds light on the sisters’ early encounters with a demonic entity, which leads to a traumatizing incident that their grown-up versions can’t remember in detail.

This third movie was written by Christopher Landon, who penned the second Paranormal movie and finds Catfish filmmakers Henry Joost and Ariel Schulman in the directors’ chairs.

Check out the three viral video clips (which include a musical score) and the trailer that premiered a couple months ago and let us know if you’re interested in seeing this movie.
